The Boys & Girls Club is more than a place, it is a "movement" to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.

By reaching children at an early age and providing positive activities and encouragement, our Clubs provide a compelling alternative to youth crime, gang membership, drugs, and other negative influences that effect our youth today.

Our Club programs promote the development of young people by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, influence and belonging. When this strategy is fully implemented, self-esteem is enhanced and an environment is created which helps our members achieve their full potential. Additionally, our members learn to:

  • Enjoy their interests
  • Nurture their talents
  • Dissolve their prejudices
  • Express their personality
  • Develop friendships
  • Build self esteem
  • Contribute to society
  • Achieve personal success

Did you know?

  • 57% of alumni said the Club saved their life
  • 91% of alumni are satisfied with their adult life
  • 90% of alumni graduate high school
  • 26% of alumni are likely to earn a college degree, the same as the general population
  • Most children have their first drug, alcohol or sexual experience between the hours of 3 and 8 pm. The doors to Boys & Girls Clubs are open during these times, on Saturdays and during school breaks—when kids need us most.
  • A year-round membership is $12 per kid, which is less than 10% of the actual costs for us to provide programs and services to that same child.

Samantha Mendez - Age 17

"What the club means to me is more than what words can explain, but the real answer is within my heart.  The Club is my family, a home where i feel useful, for me to be a social butterfly."

In order to sustain our youth guidance and development programs, we need your help! Club membership is only $12 a year. Your investment in the It Just Takes One campaign is critical in keeping our doors open for the young people of our community.
