The Arts
Our Arts programs enable youth to develop their creativity and cultural awareness through knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts, crafts, performing arts, music and creative writing.

Teens having fun as creators is fundamental our program in video production, BGC-TV. We teach technical and soft skills – in a fun, accessible way – as members work together to produce real world videos highlighting each other and their interests. Click for more information and registration.
Lyricism 101 is a program designed to cultivate and amplify the powerful, formidable voices of Club teens. Recognizing the power of literary arts, Lyricism 101 positions Club members as torchbearers and experts in the ancient oral poetic traditions that continue to thrive around the world. The program gives teens an opportunity to tell their stories, build community and express their artistic visions through the music of hip-hop culture and the culture of the cipher.
We have a full recording studio located within our Best Buy Teen Tech Center. The music studio offers members the opportunity to learn all aspects of music production - from recording, to production. We also provide vocal and intrumental (drums, guitar, and keyboard) lessons to all interested teen members.
For more than 50 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of America has celebrated the accomplishments of Club youth as they learn the art and science of photography. After local and regional competitions, the ImageMakers National Photography Contest yields national winners in four categories: Culture & Tradition, Portraits, Surroundings, and Photo with Essay or Poem.
Club members can submit their digital artwork to the annual Digital Arts Festivals competitions. The festivals celebrate Club members' creativity in six areas – graphic design, photo illustration, music composition, game design, claymation & live - action and movie making – and provide Club members with recognition at the local, regional and national levels.
