At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hudson County we offer a number of programs geared at serving our teen members. It's so much more than just a place to hang out; it's a valuable resource where our members also find opportunities to join community service and youth leadership groups, improve their academic performance, develop lasting relationships with staff and volunteer mentors who help them to navigate the trials of urban adolescence, and learn about the process of applying to colleges.
The Teen Tech Center is a dedicated suite for teens and includes programs from video and music production to graphic design to maker projects.
Many of our programs in Education & Career Development are designed specifically to service teen members. Our Career Launch program teaches teens the necessary skills for entering the workforce. The curriculum addresses professional etiquette, resume writing, and basic administrative skills. Members are placed in jobs in the community or at the Club to gain real-life job experience. Money Matters uses interactive activities to educate teens on financial literacy, including managing a checking account, budgeting, investing, and paying for college. Diplomas 2 Degrees is our college readiness program designed to assist Club members as they work toward high school graduation and prepare for post-secondary education and career success.
